Unloading at night
The City of Chichester is tied up to the Wharf and is in the process of unloading.
The layout differs from that on the Arco Dee. The Bridge is at the stern. A mobile gantry runs along the length of the ship and contains a jawed scoop to lift material from the hold and a hopper which moves within the gantry to collect the material from the scoop. The material is then discharged from the ship, at the bows, via a conveyor belt. The mobile gantry is similar to that on the Arco Dee but of a different design. A view of the other side of the City of Chichester. The boom for the conveyor belt can be clearly seen.
The material being unloaded is sand which can be seen being dropped on the hardstanding.
