14-spot Ladybird (Propylea 14-punctata)
Beetles (Coleoptera) > Ladybirds (Coccinellidae) > 14-spot Ladybird (Propylea 14-punctata)
The black and yellow spotted 14-spot ladybird is somewhat variable, with the spots most often being very angular, often coalescing, giving the creature an irregular chequered appearance. This species has a long hibernation, and is most likely to be found between May and August. The bright colours are a warning to predators that ladybirds have a bitter taste.1 / 4
