The Canada Geese have arrived back in Budds Farm Lagoon. They will probably stay until chased off by the resident pair of swans next spring.

One image from a frame depicting take off. The take off is achieved by strong wing beats supported by a rowing action by the legs. See how the webbed feet are cupped to gain maximum thrust. The bird to the rear has by now achieved sufficient height and speed to gain free flight and its legs are being brought back to its body in the flight position.
The next shot of the sequence showing the rear bird has fully achieved flying configuration and the front bird has now taken its last plunge with the legs.
