Range: Europe, Middle East,, eastwards through temperate Asia to Japan. Flight Period: Univoltine. Late March/June. Habitat: Diverse. Damp meadows, marshes, dry lowland scrub, forest clearings, alpine grassland. On acidic or base rich soils. Larval host plant: Cardemines pretensis, Alleria petiolata, Arabis turrita, Lunaria annau, Biscutella mollis, Hesperis lacinata.. Hibernates as a pupa on plant stems.
