Langstone Aggregates Wharf
Located on a peninsula, bordered between the Hermitage Stream (on the left) and an old Mill Stream (on the right). This is at a point just before the Hermitage Stream enters Langstone Harbour.
A deap water channel is maintained between Langstone Harbour and the wharf to allow ships to discharge sand/gravel/stones onto the hard standing at the edge of the wharf. Discharging takes place at high tide both in daylight and at night. Hermitage stream is fed from the chalk deposits on Portsdown Hill and rises close to the town of Waterlooville (about 7 miles north of Portsmouth).
