Port Solent, located at the North of Portsmouth Harbour is in the centre of this image. Portchester Castle can be seen across the harbour.

The area behind the boats is called the boardwalk which has a number of shops, pubs and resturants on two floors. I shall include more detailed photos of this area when I next visit.

The lock entrance to the marina is just behind the 'Nabber' boat on the left. The fueling stage is where this boat is moored. The marina extends behind this to provide mooring for private boats at the rear of each property.

Port Solent lies at the North East of Portsmouth Harbour. This view from Portsdown hill shows the new accomodation built which encloses a boating marina at its centre. A lock has been built at the entrance to the marina (to the immediate left of the brick clad flats on the right) which allows access at both high and low tide. The hill behind is an old refuse tip which has been landscaped and will form a park land.
