A large flock has returned early from their summer quarters in Iceland. Some are still in their breeding plumage.

A large flock of Black-tailed Godwit were seen alongside the reedbed. Numerous Black-headed Gulls, mostly juvenile are resting in the water alongside numerous Oystercatchers. The Oystercatcher numbers have been increased with migrants using the harbour as a winter refuge.
