This party of 3 adult Oystercatchers flew in to get an easy feed. This did not happen before when the islands were more fully occupied.

At this stage of their lives, the birds are extremely varied in plumage and some would ague that this is their most attractive stage.

The fledgling will remain with its parents for some months before becoming totally independant.

This image shows the differences between adult and juvenile Oystercatchers. In the case of the Juvenile, the leg colour is greyish, bill is more orange and eye is not yet the distinctive red of the adult.

    Not a bird I'm familiar with, but then, I'm not familiar with a lot of birds. Looks like our bushtit only with a lot more "character." Nice shot.
