  • Agelena labyrinthica web and refuge. Copyright 2009 Peter Drury<br /> A sheet web spider that creates its web close to the ground over low vegetation. The web is connected to a tubular retreat in which the spider awaits its prey. This view shows the shelter that the spider has built and the connections to the web.You can just make out a solid white object in the shelter (which id the egg sac and the darker object which is the spider itself. Clear views of the spider and the egg sac can be seen in the spider gallery.

  • Whiteflies (Aleyrodidae). Copyright 2009 Peter Drury<br /> Tiny Homopterans (Bugs) which are almost moth like. There are numerous varieties but are very difficult to separate. This specimen was about 2mm long with a wingspan of about 3mm. They normally feed under leaves but I was lucky to capture this one on the top surface.
