  • 04 Aug 2011. Class 321 EMU, approaching the Up platform from he north.
  • 04 Aug 2011. Class 313 EMU, pantograph detail.
  • 04 Aug 2011. Voyager passing through the station on the fast line.
  • 04 Aug 2011. Class 313 EMU moving from the stabling point to the station to prepare for a local service to London Kings Cross.
  • 01 Aug 2011. High water roost in the stream at Farlington Marshes.<br /> A large flock of Black-tailed Godwit were seen alongside the reedbed. Numerous Black-headed Gulls, mostly juvenile are resting in the water alongside numerous Oystercatchers. The Oystercatcher numbers have been increased with migrants using the harbour as a winter refuge.
  • 10 July 2011 Woodcraft fair 2011. The cart horses arrived at the show in their own limo.
  • 10 July 2011 Woodcraft fair 2011. The skillfull art of thatching. The sign proclaims '10,000 years of thatcherism'. An interesting play on words!. It is surprising how, even now, to enter villiages in England and still see thatched cottages. A wonderful living legacy.

  • 10 July 2011 Woodcraft fair 2011. Planing in action.<br /> They do tend to start young! Not yet big enough to hold the vice jaws closed without a little help.
  • 10 July 2011 Woodcraft fair 2011. Planing in action.<br /> A simple wooden vice holds the workpiece. The jaws are held shut by applying pressure with the feet.

  • 10 July 2011 Woodcraft fair 2011. Mobile saw mill in action.<br /> Ideal to take into the forest and cut the timber without the additional eonomic and environmental costs of trucking the tree trunks to the saw mill. The saw dust and bark become ideal habitats for invertebrates which provide an additional souce of food for the birds etc. Over time, the rotting timber returns nutrients etc to the soil. A win win.
