During the war, imported food and goods were hard to come by which led to this campaign to become self-sufficient. Yet another Austin of the time but, in this case, without the regulation black-out headlamps and white mudguard marker lines. Copyright Peter Drury 2011

Note the black-out covers on the vehicles and the white painted mudguard edges. It certainly leaves little to the imagination about the difficulties driving and for pedestrians at the time.
